What is evaporative cooling or evaporative air cooler?
Evaporative cooling employs water’s large enthalpy of vaporization, which is in other words that water needs a lot of energy to transform from liquid to gas phase. And this amount of energy is sucked from the surrounding surfaces and air which cools it in many degrees depending on the pressure and humidity.

That is evaporative cooling !!!, and evaporative coolers, air coolers, and outdoor coolers uses a combination of fans and wet pads as the basis. Water is going through first evaporative pads – that are designed to have a significant contact surface with water and air – allowing air to flow through them smoothly at the same time. The air cools down at all this big surface due to the water evaporation energy consumption. That cool air at the pads surface is sucked by a fan to be used for cooling.
Evaporative air coolers AKA:
Outdoor air coolers,Desert coolers, swamp coolers, wet air coolers or even what some call it in Dubai outdoor air conditioners (Outdoor AC, which some others consider it technically not accurate) are all evaporative air coolers. And these evaporative air coolers come in different sizes and shapes with single stage usually or two.
Multistage evaporative air coolers usually use the evaporative pads of the first stage to cool down the water itself which goes to next stage. Which increases the efficiency by a few degrees.

The common and most important thing about evaporative Air coolers is that since they do not use compressors like the air conditioners, they consume a fracture of the power air conditioners do.
