The rule of thumb is that evaporative air coolers are used for open areas, while rented portable A/C’s are used indoors (and spot cooling outdoors). So never think about using evaporative coolers in a closed room, because humidity will increase extremely without ventilation (check how they work).

In most cases, We suggest one “8000m3/h” cooler for every 4 guests or small table, or “18000m3/h” cooler near bigger tables. Since “renting” means “temporary” setup, usually there is no power source at the locations that need heating. So we could say that mostly, only gas patio heaters are rented. However, If power source is accessible easily and there is no much space, an electric wall/pole mounted heater could be an option.

Considering our 40,000btu mushroom heater, 1 is enough for 150 to 200sqm. So mostly in UAE’s weather, one each 6-7 meters should heat enough. There are some estimation calculations based on needed temperature rise, but you can always call us ahead to plan.
